In recognition that swimming rules for National Federation of High Schools and United States Swimming are converging, the Virginia High School League (VHSL), Virginia Swimming, Inc. (VSI) and Potomac Valley Swimming (PVS) are testing the concept in the 2007-2008 season of providing VHSL official certification based on VSI and PVS certifications.
